Summary: After graduating in 2004 with an honors degree from Xavier University (OH), I took my largely classical education to Japan for a real time challenge. While teaching English, I taught myself enough Japanese to pass the second highest level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in less amount of time than most college students regularly taking classes are able to. I passed the highest level of the test in the summer of 2009. My previous experience with Japan amounted to upper level history courses I took due to my interest in the region in college. I have since greatly expanded my knowledge of Japan and Modern Japanese History through my Master level courses at American University (DC) and Ritsumeikan University (Kyoto) in the Dual Master's Degree Program. I graduated both programs in September of 2009, and am currently looking for work.
