As an Assistant Attorney General for the Honorable Eliot Spitzer, I engaged in the following litigation activities: -Defended all forms of State entities in federal and state matters -Drafted pre-answer, discovery, dispositive, and pre-trial motions -Taken and defended depositions of parties and non-parties -Managed discovery in a matter challenging state-wide policy, including supervision of fourteen correctional facility tours by plaintiffs counsel and production of over 1,000,000 pages of documents -Coordinated all phases of litigation and settled a nine-county class action lawsuit -Presented oral argument before the Second Circuit and Second Department -Defended state officials in a federal jury trial In addition to my work as an Assistant Attorney General, I have experience as a Law Clerk in the Court of International Trade where I clerked for two years for the Honorable Thomas J. Aquilino, Jr. Under his guidance, I provided His Honor with the following assistance: -Drafted opinions, orders, and bench memoranda on international trade matters, customs classification cases, environmental law issues, and Third Circuit appeals -Researched antidumping law, tariff schedules, administrative and environmental law, federal sentencing guidelines, and civil RICO matters
