Summary: Johan Postma is an all-round traffic and transport planner whose skills are to translate abstract policies into concrete traffic plans. Johan started his own business as a freelance traffic and transport planner in 2009. He offers his services to spatial planners for concretizing traffic and transport policies into tangible plans, and civil engineering companies to fill in the paragraph of traffic and transport planning into concrete solutions. Prior to becoming a freelance traffic and transport planner, Johan had a successful career in a renowned Dutch traffic consultancy and a Dutch multi-national engineering company. He worked on projects for different kind of clients, like city and local councils, Provincial authorities, the Directorate General of Public Works and Water Management and commercial clients. Examples of studies Johan worked on are a TIA for maintenance work on Amsterdams main ring road and a master plan for a fresh-auction where he dealt with the traffic impact and parking demand. After moving to Spain in 2003 Johan developed his commercial skills in a sales/account management job and gained valuable management experience by leading a multi-cultural and multi-lingual team of 30 people in a complex and demanding environment. Today Johan offers a wide range of services from traffic and transport modelling, to parking and road safety.
