Victor Ella

Summary: Dr. Ella has had more than 27 years of extensive teaching, research and extension experience in the field of soil and water resources engineering. He has also had more than 3 years of administrative experience as Dean of the College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology (CEAT), University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB). Dr. Ella has taught a wide variety of undergraduate agricultural and civil engineering courses including hydrology, irrigation and drainage engineering, water quality management, sanitary engineering, soil engineering, water resources planning, open channel hydraulics, water control structures, fluid mechanics, mathematical methods in engineering, among others. He has also handled graduate courses such as groundwater hydrology, water quality control engineering, erosion and sediment transport, advanced water resources planning and water management. He has served as thesis adviser to BS, MS and PhD students in agricultural engineering major in land and water resources. Dr. Ella has worked on various research projects and presented or published papers on the various aspects of hydrology, water quality, irrigation, soil erosion, groundwater modeling, watershed modeling, contaminant transport in soils among others. He has also served as a resource person and/or coordinator in training programs on irrigation and water management, hydrology and related water resources engineering disciplines. He continues to serve as faculty member of the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology, University of the Philippines Los Banos, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, advising thesis students and advancing knowledge in the various fields of soil and water resources engineering.
